Deborah O’Flynn

Chartered Physiotherapist

Deborah O Flynn

Deborah is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Owner of Revive Physiotherapy Mitchelstown. Being a native of Ballygiblin, she is delighted to be able to set up a clinic in her home town, having gained over 10 years of experience in the UK, Fermoy and Cork City.

Deborah qualified in 2009 with a BSc Honours degree in Sports & Exercise Rehabilitation. This 4 year degree provided her with an excellent platform of knowledge in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. As part of this degree, she undertook four months of work experience in Philadelphia, where she worked with a variety of elite university athletes and as a result gained extensive experience in diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of complaints. Following this she then completed a two years Masters Degree in Physiotherapy and is now a registered member of The Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and CORU.

Deborah has strong beliefs in patient education and use a mixture of hands-on and self- management approaches to care. Her first degree encouraged a passion for rehabilitation and she is very pro-active in her approach to injury rehabilitation and injury prevention. She uses a combination of manual techniques, Pilates, neural mobilisation, Kinesiotaping, deep tissue massage and dry needling to treat a wide variety of complaints.

Deborah herself also has a keen interest in sports, having previously played both ladies football and camogie with the local clubs. In the last number of years, she has transitioned to running and the gym and has completed over 10 half marathons as well as 3 full marathons to date. As a teenager she also had the fortune of competing internationally as a member of the Irish Youth Gymnastics team.

Louise Whitely

Louise Whitely

Louise qualified with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin and has full membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is CORU registered. Since qualification she has worked in Private Practice and Primary Care in Kilkenny, Waterford and Cork, gaining extensive experience in the management of musculoskeletal disorders and sports injury rehabilitation. She has maintained a strong commitment to continuing professional development and has undertaken further study in peripheral and spinal musculoskeletal conditions.

Louise is a qualified Pilates instructor and recently began leading pregnancy Pilates classes. She has also gained qualifications in dry needling, dynamic taping and the prescription of orthotic devices. She has completed pitch-side sports injury intervention and first aid courses and has worked with sports teams at both club and national level.

When not working or travelling Louise loves to keep fit and especially enjoys to run and hike. She has a number of half marathons completed to date and there may be a full marathon on the horizon at some stage!

 

David Norris

Chartered Physiotherapist

David Norris

David, a Mitchelstown native, graduated from the University of Cumbria in 2020 with an MSc degree in physiotherapy. He is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is CORU registered.  David earned a BSc Honours degree in General Nursing from UCC in 2015 before beginning the Masters of Physiotherapy program. For three years, he worked as a General Nurse at Cork University Hospital, gaining knowledge in a variety of medical specialties.

David has worked in both private practice and public service in the UK and Ireland since qualifying as a physiotherapist,  as such he has a wealth of experience in treating a wide range of disorders in musculoskeletal and neurological areas. David enjoys being current with the newest research and furthering his education, where he has qualifications in dry needling, dynamic taping, shockwave therapy, and vestibular rehabilitation. He has completed pitch-side sports injury courses and first aid courses and is currently working with GAA and rugby teams.

David enjoys watching and playing sports in his spare time. He presently plays for the local rugby team and has previously played for the local GAA teams. He is also passionate about greyhounds and animal health.

 

Charlene English

Clinic Manager

Charlene

Charlene is the first person you will meet at Revive Physiotherapy.  Whether dealing with patients over the phone or face-to-face, you can be sure of a friendly, helpful interactions with Charlene.  She has over 10 years experience in office management and her role is to give patients the best possible experience.  Charlene is an advocate of the patient centred approach to care, and she is always available to answer any questions you may have.

Aaron Broderick

Athletic Therapist

 

Meet the team

 

Aaron is a native of Kerry but has seen the light and has made the move to Cork.  Aaron graduated from SETU, Carlow with a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation & Athletic Therapy.  This 4 year degree provided him with an excellent platform of knowledge in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. As part of this degree, Aaron undertook four months of work experience in Arizona, where he worked with a variety of elite university athletes and as a result gained extensive experience in diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of complaints.

Aaron has more recently worked with Cycling Ireland and Cork City FC where he gained invaluable experience of management of musculoskeletal disorders and sports injury rehabilitation.  Aaron believes strongly in not just treating injuries, but in patient advice and education to help to prevent future injuries occurring.  Continued professional development is important to Aaron and he is constantly updating his skills through development courses.
